Beauty 2 U

A blog dedicated to bringing knowledge and reviews of beauty products and brands to the tumblr community.
The first review I would like to make is for Birchbox.  Birchbox is a monthly subscription service; that means for $10 a month, the team at Birchbox will send you a box of four or five deluxe samples.  If you add up the price of the samples they are always well over $10, so you’re getting to try some of the newest and coolest products on the market for a fraction of the cost.  When you sign up you answer a few questions about your beauty experience, what kind of skin and hair you have and things you are interested in keeping healthy.  Based on your answers, the team at Birchbox sends you products selected especially for you!
Birchbox also has full-size products on their website, and for each dollar spent you earn 1 point.  Once you earn 100 points you get $10 off a purchase of any full size item in their store.  You can also earn points by referring friends (once they make a purchase) and by leaving reviews of products that have come in your monthly Birchbox.
Why I love Birchbox:  I think it’s a great way to try new products.  Each box comes with a card that tells you what everything is and its retail price so you know exactly what you are getting in your box.  Sometimes they throw in extra goodies for customers who write reviews or refer friends, so it’s helpful to both you and the company to leave reviews.  You can cancel your subscription at any time, since it is a monthly service, but I would recommend giving it two or three months before making a final decision.
In last month’s Birchbox I received an Oscar Blandi hair protein mist, Klorane eye makeup remover, LaRocca Champagne and Shimmer Acai body polish, a chocolate bar with pop rocks in it (a special treat), Zoya holiday 2011 nail polish in Izzy and, for previously reviewing products, a bracelet from the website Bauble Bar which retails for $20.  What a great box!
I really do urge you to check out the website and to give it a try!
